Utilizing Powerpoint taught me how to keep the attention of my audience throughout all of my long presentations. I use PowerPoint in my recruitment role to design engaging presentations for information sessions, high school visits, and every presentation I have ever had to give. I’ve also used it to create slideshows for community events, banquets, and special programs. This certification taught me how to design slides that are visually appealing and easy to follow, helping me communicate confidently and keep my audience’s attention.

Excel helps me stay organized in both my work and community responsibilities. At UA, I use it to track recruitment travel, manage student data, and organize contact lists. I use it to plan event budgets, track donations, and organize volunteer schedules. Earning this certification has helped me analyze data efficiently and present it in a clean, understandable way—skills that make my work more accurate and professional.

I use Adobe InDesign to design professional documents and creative materials that represent the university well. It’s also my go-to tool for producing printed programs, brochures, and event layouts for community and church events. This certification has helped me understand design structure, spacing, and layout, which has taken the professionalism of my projects to a new level.

Photoshop has been one of the most useful tools in both my UA and volunteer work. At the university, I use it to edit images for recruitment flyers, presentations, and social media graphics. At home, I use it to design church flyers, sports edits, and graphics for community events. This certification taught me how to create high-quality, polished visuals that give every project a professional edge.

I use Illustrator to design logos, icons, and digital graphics for UA events and personal branding projects. I’ve also used it to design logos and digital artwork for community events, scholarship programs, and sports teams. This certification has strengthened my creative design skills and helped me create clean, consistent visuals that give both my university and community projects a professional identity.

This certification has helped me grow as a leader in my role as a Recruitment Assistant and C&IS Ambassador. It’s also influenced how I lead in my community through organizing events, helping younger students, and mentoring others. I’ve learned to lead with confidence and integrity while focusing on teamwork and service.

Through this program, I’ve learned how to lead by example and encourage what we consider “emerging leaders”. I use these skills in recruitment settings when interacting with prospective students, and when organizing community activities and youth events. This certification taught me how to build relationships, communicate effectively, and motivate others—qualities that have strengthened both my work and my leadership presence.
