Social Media

I manage the @cbc_youthministry account, where my focus is on creating content that truly connects with the students in our youth group. It’s not just about posting updates — it’s about building a space that feels fun and encouraging for that age group. I design posts and stories that reflect their interests, highlight their involvement, and share messages that inspire them in their faith and daily lives. It’s important that everything we post is appealing to them, because when content speaks their language, it opens the door for real connection and growth. Running this account has shown me how powerful communication can be when it’s intentional, creative, and centered on the people it’s meant to reach.

@tunesandtrivia

I managed the Tunes and Trivia Instagram account during our partnership with Secret Meals for Hungry Children, a program through Alabama Credit Union. My role was to create engaging social media content that promoted our events while highlighting the purpose behind them — raising funds to help fight childhood hunger across Alabama. I focused on designing posts and stories that were fun and eye-catching but also meaningful, connecting entertainment with impact. Managing the account taught me how to balance creativity with advocacy, using social media not just to inform but to inspire action and community involvement.

I have always loved social media, not just for the connections it creates in my personal life, but also for the opportunities it provides in a professional setting. Personally, social media allows me to share my story, stay connected with friends and family, and engage with communities I care about. Professionally, I see it as one of the most powerful tools of our time. It is an open space to build brands, share ideas, and connect with audiences in real and authentic ways. I enjoy exploring how different platforms require different voices and strategies, and I value the challenge of tailoring content that resonates with each audience. To me, social media is more than scrolling or posting, but it is a space where creativity, strategy, and community meet, and I love using it to strengthen both my personal relationships and my professional goals.

We live in a time where technology allows us to reach people and opportunities across the world instantly. Using social media wisely means taking advantage of that access. It’s a way to learn from others, grow your network, and position yourself for success long before you enter the workforce. When we learn to use social media authentically and strategically, we are not just scrolling, we begin investing in our own futures.

Accounts that I manage:

I created and currently manage the social media accounts for The Cricket Theatre on Instagram and Facebook. My goal was to help the theatre connect more closely with the community and reach a wider audience through consistent, engaging content. I design graphics, promote upcoming productions and events, highlight local talent, and share behind-the-scenes moments that bring the theatre’s story to life. By managing these platforms, I’ve helped increase community engagement, grow attendance at performances, and strengthen overall awareness of The Cricket Theatre’s mission to celebrate and preserve the history in Collinsville.
