College Education
At The University of Alabama, I have built a strong academic foundation through my studies in Public Relations with a minor in Communication Studies, supported by a variety of courses across the College of Communication & Information Sciences. My coursework has combined theory and practice, giving me both the analytical skills to understand how communication shapes organizations and society, and the practical tools to apply those insights in real-world settings.
In Public Relations, I have gained experience in strategic campaign planning, media relations, content creation, digital communication, crisis management, and audience analysis. Through assignments such as writing professional news releases, developing media kits, and designing strategic communication plans, I’ve learned to adapt messages for diverse publics while maintaining brand credibility and organizational goals. My Communication Studies courses have strengthened my ability to speak effectively, lead with confidence, and analyze interpersonal and organizational dynamics, sharpening my leadership abilities.
What makes my education especially meaningful is the personalized approach I have taken to align it with my long-term goals. My passion is to make a difference in the lives of high school students, particularly by helping them discover their strengths and guiding them toward successful futures. To prepare for this, I supplemented my core studies with classes that strengthened my ability to teach, coach, and connect inside the classroom, ensuring I can translate communication theory into practical strategies that engage and inspire younger audiences. By intentionally broadening my education, I’ve positioned myself to be not only an effective communicator, but also a mentor who can create an environment where students feel motivated and supported in pursuing their goals.
Beyond the classroom, my education has been enriched by experiential opportunities, including recruitment, event planning, and organizational outreach through my roles at the university. These experiences, paired with my coursework, have given me an education that is not only academically rigorous but also deeply practical—preparing me to lead, mentor, and serve in both professional and community settings.
Throughout my time at UA, I have contributed to and executed a variety of projects that bridged classroom learning with real-world application. I have written professional email pitches and news releases, developed full media kits, and designed communication campaigns that connected organizations with their target audiences in meaningful ways.
Equally important, The University of Alabama has been a place where I’ve grown as a leader and mentor. Through my roles in recruitment, student organizations, and ambassador programs, I have had the privilege of influencing prospective students, peers, and community members. I’ve led by example—whether through giving campus tours, coordinating events, or mentoring others in communication practices—and I’ve seen firsthand how strong leadership can inspire confidence and create lasting impact.
The leadership abilities I’ve gained here are not just about holding titles but about learning how to empower others, foster collaboration, and guide teams toward success. My education at UA has prepared me to step into professional environments with both the technical skills of a communicator and the interpersonal influence of a leader who knows how to make people feel seen, heard, and motivated.
High School Education
The education I received at Collinsville High School is something I will always hold close to my heart because it had such a significant impact on the person I am today. It wasn’t just the academics that shaped me, but the environment — the people, the small-town sense of community, and the lessons that went far beyond the classroom. Collinsville gave me a foundation that many people will never understand. One built on hard work, respect, and pride in where I come from. It showed me the value of relationships, of having people who believe in you, and of carrying yourself with purpose no matter what stage of life you’re in. I am a firm believer that you are never too young to have an influence on others, and the people of my community poured into me at such a young age and truly gave me every opportunity to do just that. Some might think it is foolish to include a section crediting the high school or hometown you were apart of, but for me to leave it out would cause me to leave out so much of who I am.
What I cherish most about my that specific time of my life is how formative it was for me, and how it caused me to have the goals I have for myself now. Every single opportunity and relationship that happened during that time of my life was so influential. I think about the teachers who invested in me, who pushed me to not only meet expectations but to rise above them. I think about the friendships that carried me through late nights, big wins, very tough losses, and all the in-between moments that made “high school” so meaningful. I also think about the ways I was able to lead — in athletics, in academics, in extracurricular activities, and in my church — and how those moments gave me my first taste of the responsibility and influence that comes with leadership. Collinsville taught me that leadership isn’t about standing in front; it’s about being willing to serve, to encourage, and to bring out the best in the people around you.
Because of that, I believe everyone should appreciate and value their high school experience. It’s easy to take those years for granted or rush through them, but the truth is they are full of opportunities to learn about yourself, to make lifelong connections, and to discover what kind of person you want to be. Every environment you find yourself in carries weight. It shapes your character, and it gives you a foundation if you approach it appropriately. I would never trade my experience at Collinsville, because it gave me not only an education but also the foundation I needed to be in the position I am in now.
I’ve always known that high school should never be the peak of anyone’s story. I believe if you are surrounded by the right people, it will be a launching pad. As much as I value those years, I also see them as the beginning of something much bigger — a journey of growth, education, and leadership that continues every day of my life. My time at Collinsville made me grateful for where I came from, but it also created a desire for me to capitalize on advancing my education. I think that’s the balance we all need to find: to look back with gratitude and to look forward with a vision and purpose. My teenage years will always be one of the most defining parts of my story, but I have never questioned that it would ever be the greatest thing I experience, because I believe there is a calling my life to help another slightly underprepared senior find their way. That feels like the most rewarding experience I could imagine.

Effective communication is the foundation of influence. If we cannot clearly express ideas, listen with intention, and connect with others on a meaningful level, then we lose the ability to inspire change or leave a lasting impact. Without communication, leadership falls flat — but with it, we have the power to motivate, guide, and have a real impact in the lives of others.
